About the Library: The Knowledge Resource Center

Library is the heart of the organization or institute. Library plays vital rule in the development of the students as well as the faculty members. Library is trinity of student staff members & resources. If the prime is center of Learning, providing honest services to its users.


Jijamata Bahu-Uddeshiya Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Potoda (B.K.) Dwara Sanchalit Sambhajirao Kendre Mahavidyalaya, jalkot is a premier institutions in the Latur District of Marathwada region. The college is successfully offering higher education to the student surrounding area. The college is well known for quality its education and maintaining the tradition of excellence. In the same manner library of the college is working as knowledge resources centre and extending its services as well as knowledge treasure to the students/ readers in the area. Library is fullowing the motto of the institution ‘Excellence in Education’.


The library is established in 2001 with the foundation of the college. It is having separate building situated at the centre place of the college campus. The cullection of the library is well organized and classified for the optimum use of it. Library is partially automated, bar coded with the help of SOUL 2.0 software developed by INFLIBNET, Gandhinagar Gujarat’. Library is proud to provide access to online resources like N-LIST project which is having plenty of   online Journals and E- books for reference.


The library is having books, periodicals,non book material and specially, bound vulumes of important periodicals and journals in its cullection. It has been enriched by the cullection of M.Phil. Dissertations and Ph.D.theses as well as survey reports done by the college teachers. It maintains separate cup board for placement advertisements by the different agencies as well as introduction of the new arrival. Ours might be the unique library where separate cabins are set up for boys, for girls, for staff as well as the stake hulders. Who wish to face competitive examinations .It is also notable feature of the estate that it provides separate e-library resources for boy’s and girl’s a set of of 20 PC’s. Connected with broad band Net connection, Wi-Fi Facility and individual Log-in ID and Password.


Here is the rare cupboard that pays tribute to the renowned that pass away .It aims to let the students know  the person we purchase 15 newspapers every day placed on separate reading stand .we subscribe 20 periodicals and Journals  both referred and N-Listed .We have rich cullection of various Diwali issues published  every year , the estate organizes an essay competition  on the occasion of birth anniversary of the father of library science Dr. S.R. Ranagnathan ever year and distributes prizes to the winners .It also affords "Best Readers Award" both to the teachers as well as students every year .It has also recorded the news related with the college activities .


The library staff is trying to provide maximum services to the students / readers as well as teaching and non-teaching staff and other reader of the college to achieve the goal of the library.

LIBRARY RULES

  • Every student must have an Identity Card. In the college campus and every student should possess and it on demand it should be produced.
  • Books & Periodicals will be issued in  Library Time to the regular students only.
  • Books issued on borrower’s card should  be returned  for 15 days only.
  • If book is not returned on or before due date per day fine of one rupee will be charged.
  • The date of book  will be extended for next 15 days only when there is no demand for the same book.
  • The students should check the book at the counter before it is issued. if a book is damaged or the paper is missing and torn; it should be brought to the notice of the library staff.
  • If  the book is lost, damaged, torn by the students he/she will have to replace a new copy of the latest edition or pay the double price of the same book.
  • Issue section will be kept open during the Deepawali and summer vacation.
  • The book must be physically available while extending the date.
  • The students should personally see that the books returned by him / her are being cancelled on the concerned records otherwise no complaints about the return of the book will be entertained.
  • Reference and rare books are not issued, however they can make    
    Available in the library only for reference work.
  • If the reference book is taken outside the library by the students without prior permission of the librarian, a legal action will be taken.
  • Mobile phones are strictly banned in the library premises.
  • Mis behavior will be a sufficient reason for suspending the Library facilities.
  • In case of any grievances the students are allowed to contact  the Librarian.

 

READING ROOM RULES

  • Mobile phones are strictly banned in the reading room.
  • Identity card is compulsory for the use of reading room.
  • Students can borrow magazine, Newspaper, Question paper set with producing identity card.
  • Silence should be maintained strictly in the reading room.
  • Any act of indiscipline, misbehavior will be taken as serious offence.

 

LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP:

                  All students who seek admissions are eligible to enrull their membership for library facility. Students are required to fill up membership form and to submit in the library.
For new appointed Faculty, Staff and Visiting Faculty have to submit their application through the Head of the Department and then the Principal along with the photocopy of the Appointment Order and one Pass port size Photo for the use of library facility.

 

EXTERNAL MEMBERSHIP

It is the special facility provided by the college library to the ex- students and readers (citizens) of the city for extending the treasure of knowledge to them. Such students / readers desirous of making use of this facility are expected to register their names with the librarian of the college by paying the prescribed fees. Rules and Regulations for external Membership

  • The membership is open for  Ex- students of this college.
  • Post Graduate students  of  the other colleges or registered students of distance education of  the parent  university
  • Research Scholar registered for M. Phil., Doctoral and Post-Doctoral research work.
  • Any person from the town and surroundings, intending to pursue some extensive reading.
  • Any reader/ employee from the city and surrounding intending to prepare for competitive examinations.


ENROLLMENT:-

Membership form will be available with the library assistant on the request for membership.

  • The form fully  filled and duly signed by  the Principal should be submitted to library assistant.
  • Library Card will be issued immediately on submission of the completed form and payment of fees.
  • Members desirous of availing the borrowing facility, will have to pay fees of rupees 100/-( Per year) and refundable deposit of Rs.500/- (for one book)
