The department of History is established in 2001. The main aim of the department is to give quality education and has been earned lot of reputation and popularity. The subject is one of the optional at B.A. stream. The students enrolled to this subject and department belong to all strata's of society. The aim of this department is to introduce the students with the glorious history of India and the world & create patriotism in the students. To introduce the students with the great leaders, warriors, emperors, statesmen of India and the world & to prepare them to compare historical incidents with the present one.

Aims and objectives
- To introduce the students with the glorious history of India and the world.
- To create patriotism in the students.
- To introduce the students with the golden ancient era of India.
- To make the students conscious to keep and protect the cultural heritage of India.
- To prepare the students to protect historical places and things.

- To teach them how to relate the historical experience with the present.
- To make them to evaluate historical events and teach them how to avoid the mistakes of the past.
